HOW TO EVADE A STORM
Author: Raquel Trope
11th Grade
The Heart
The Brain
Married for 17 years
But fighting for control of the house
Where the house goes
What it does
What it knows
But the house is crumbling
Water escapes the houses windows every day from a leakage
A leakage from the darkest parts of the top of the house
The Brain is over thinking
The heart is pressuring
They both want different things
Can never agree
And soon
The house will fall
Never to be rebuilt
Then a storm comes
Affecting the houses balance
The heart and brain need to stop fighting
Before it is too late
Fall by Keller Hartig
Grow forth young ones,
Into the fray,
For others will steal your light.
The day shall be yours
With branches raised
And the lightning storm of your might.
At the end of it all,
You have it won,
And none can surpass your height.
But not before fall
When your day is done,
And you cannot escape the blight.
